Senior Firewall & Security Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
Do you want to operate, analyse and continuously improve security infrastructures technically? In this position, you take responsibility for central security components in a complex enterprise environment and ensure a stable and secure operation together with the team.
The focus is on firewall and proxy technologies, network segmentation and the technical implementation of modern security requirements. At the same time, you contribute your know-how to projects and support less experienced team members with demanding technical issues.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring the operation and continuous development of firewall and proxy platforms
Analysing complex faults and handling security-relevant incidents up to the extended third-level support
Implementing changes, releases and technical improvements taking into account network and security requirements
Reviewing and optimising firewall rules, configurations and technical operational processes
Participating in projects related to network segmentation, zone concepts and security services
Supporting VPN, web application firewall and cloud-based security solutions as well as knowledge transfer within the team
Qualifications:
IT education with appropriate further training or comparable technical qualification
Several years of professional experience in security engineering and operation of enterprise infrastructures
Sound knowledge of network architectures, routing and analysis of technical communication flows
Experience in incident management, change management, updates and structured operational processes
Experience with VPN and ideally with web application firewalls; knowledge of Microsoft 365, Zero Trust or Secure Access is a plus
Good German skills and technical English as well as an independent, solution-oriented and responsible working style
