Role:

Stable networks do not arise by chance but through careful planning and precise engineering. This is exactly where you come in as a Network Security & Routing Specialist. Your focus is on high-performance provider infrastructures with BGP, MPLS, and well-thought-out security solutions. You see complex disruptions as a challenge, not a burden. Between conception, customer projects, and data centres, you apply your know-how where it makes the greatest difference.

Responsibilities:

• You analyse complex network problems in 3rd-level support and find the actual cause using packet captures and routing analyses

• You develop solutions around firewalls, NAT, ACLs, and VPNs for customers and internal systems and implement them in projects

• You operate Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) services on Layer 2 and Layer 3 and optimise routers, switches, as well as the entire core and access network

• Furthermore, you carry out lifecycle measures, migrations, and changes and integrate new customers, systems, and locations into the existing architecture

• You independently plan and implement dynamic routing architectures with Border Gateway Protocol and other protocols

• Additionally, you check performance and traffic flows, conduct technical assessments, and work hands-on in data centre projects, from cabling to networking of data centres

Qualifications:

• You bring at least 3 years of practical experience in network and security engineering, ideally from a provider or carrier network

• You have solid knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv6 and IPv4, as well as switching, routing, and complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 environments

• You have already worked practically with route selection, peering, and MPLS services

• Furthermore, you master link aggregation, STP/RSTP, VLAN design and segmentation, and are familiar with redundancy and failover concepts from everyday work

• You combine experience with VPN technologies and firewalls with an analytical working style and rely on Wireshark, logs, and routing data for troubleshooting

• Ideally, you are also familiar with hardware from Extreme, Cisco, Brocade, Fortinet, or Ruckus, are confident in German, and can easily read English documentation
