DevOps Engineer Embedded Systems (m/f/d)
How do you stop a drone in mid-air? Our Rocken partner develops and produces intelligent interception systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. With electrically powered Sentinel systems that reach speeds of up to 230 km/h, the company protects critical infrastructures from unwanted intruders from the air. The solutions combine autonomous flight control, intelligent seekers, and modular design – from pure interception to controlled removal to safety zones. The focus is always on minimal collateral damage. The team works at the interface of defence technology, robotics, and airspace surveillance. Flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths characterise the daily work routine. Are you ready to work on systems that redefine security? Then our Rocken partner looks forward to your application.Role:
In this role as DevOps Engineer, you take responsibility for the further development of our build, test, and release infrastructure to ensure reliable, reproducible, and efficient software development and delivery. You work closely with our developers to identify friction points in the development process and develop pragmatic solutions. Your goal is to optimise our CI/CD workflows, build environments, test processes, and release procedures. You enjoy automating development processes and understanding complex build environments. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you bring your technical skills and solution-oriented approach to sustainably improve our engineering infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
You design robust delivery chains for automated software creation and release.
You ensure identical results on developer devices, build servers, and embedded platforms.
You optimise package provisioning, dependencies, binary artefacts, and version states of the C++ solutions.
You create isolated development and testing platforms with Podman or Docker and integrate Buildroot-based images.
You analyse bottlenecks in toolchains and workflows and develop sustainable improvements together with engineering teams.
Qualifications:
You have higher technical education or equivalent professional experience in software or system engineering.
You have several years of experience with build infrastructure, automated testing chains, and Git-centred development.
You are proficient in Unix/Linux and scripting and have a good understanding of modern C++ toolchains.
You are familiar with container technologies and ideally embedded Linux, cross-compilers, hardware-near tests, or quality gates.
You convince through analytical thinking, prioritisation skills, initiative, and clear communication with technical stakeholders.
