Complex IT landscapes require more than technical individual decisions: a strategic mind that connects architecture with implementation is needed. This position is aimed at experienced IT architects who want to design modern infrastructure, lead technical teams, and develop sustainable solutions for business-critical environments.
Responsibilities:
Development and management of modern enterprise and infrastructure architectures
Definition of target architectures, technical standards, and strategic technology roadmaps
Design of highly available and scalable IT landscapes for business-critical applications
Architecture of hybrid infrastructures, cloud environments, networks, and security platforms
Integration of new technologies into existing system and operational landscapes
Technical overall responsibility for demanding solution designs within interdisciplinary project teams
Management of technical architecture decisions at the interfaces of infrastructure, network, security, and platform engineering
Further development of architectural principles, reference architectures, and technical governance models
Analysis of existing platforms regarding stability, scalability, security, and future viability
Technical consulting of engineering, operations, and project teams
Mentoring of specialists and promotion of a modern engineering culture
Support in complex disruptions and critical technical situations
Establishment of sustainable solutions instead of short-term workarounds
Active participation in architecture and technology committees
Conveying complex technical contexts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications:
Several years of experience as an enterprise architect, solution architect, infrastructure architect, or in a comparable senior role
Solid practical experience in the architecture and implementation of complex IT infrastructures
Holistic understanding of IT, OT, network, platform, and security architectures
Experience in designing clear security and segmentation concepts between IT and OT
Proven experience in the technical leadership of complex projects
Confident handling of architecture methods, standards, and governance models
Experience with agile working methods such as Scrum, SAFe, or comparable frameworks
Experience with modern technologies around cloud, virtualisation, containerisation, automation, and infrastructure as code
Strong understanding of highly available and business-critical systems
Ability to analyse technical decisions in a structured way and communicate them comprehensibly
Enjoyment in mentoring, knowledge transfer, and further development of technical teams
Completed studies in computer science, systems engineering, computer science, or a comparable technical discipline
Very good communication skills in German
