Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for a Structural Engineer for Building and Bridge Construction for the design of demanding structures and engineering constructions. You will work on projects from the development of the structural concept through static calculations and dimensioning to execution planning. You will increasingly participate in leading project teams and advising clients, architects, and authorities. The position offers a versatile field of activity between structural design, structural engineering, and project coordination.
Responsibilities:
Design of demanding structures in building and bridge construction
Development of economical and technically optimised structural and construction concepts
Execution of static calculations, dimensioning, and load-bearing capacity verifications
Handling structures in reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and composite construction according to project requirements
Project work across the relevant SIA phases from preliminary study to realisation
Preparation of technical reports, static documentation, and design documents
Coordination of formwork, reinforcement, construction, and detail planning
Participation in the professional leadership and coordination of project teams
Coordination with clients, architects, specialist planners, and authorities
Support with cost estimates, tenders, and contract documents
Technical supervision of construction execution, conducting inspections and handling structural issues
Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards as well as quality and safety requirements
Qualifications:
Completed degree as ETH Structural Engineer with a focus on structural engineering or comparable specialisation
Solid knowledge in structural analysis, structural design, and structural dimensioning
Experience in building and/or bridge construction is an advantage; also suitable for graduates with the corresponding specialisation
Knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss planning practice
Interest in taking on project management and coordination tasks
Willingness for professional development in adjacent areas of structural engineering
Very good German language skills, spoken and written
