IT System Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities:
- You operate and maintain the physical server and storage infrastructure at the colocation sites
- In this role, you coordinate hardware installations, replacements, upgrades as well as cabling, rack space, and power connections
- As an IT Infrastructure System Engineer, you monitor hardware condition, performance, temperature, storage capacity, and environmental conditions
- You operate and maintain Proxmox clusters, virtual machines, Linux servers, as well as Ceph and ZFS storage environments
- In this role, you provide central infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, internal certificates, and related network services
- As an IT Infrastructure System Engineer, you support incident management, infrastructure changes, and the compensated on-call rotation
Qualifications:
- You have training in IT, systems engineering, computer science, or a comparable technical or university qualification (e.g. computer scientist EFZ platform development, ICT specialist EFZ, ICT system and network technician with federal certificate)
- You bring practical experience in Linux system administration and operating server infrastructures
- You work confidently with virtualisation solutions such as Proxmox, VMware, or comparable platforms
- You are familiar with storage technologies such as Ceph, ZFS, or other distributed storage systems and master backup, restore, as well as high-availability and disaster recovery concepts
- You have good knowledge of server hardware, operating system installation, patching, monitoring, as well as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, and general network services
- You communicate fluently in English, live in Switzerland, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, personal responsibility, and communication skills
