Mission
Within this role, attached to the Watchmaking Division, you will be responsible for performing the operations of collet fitting, stud fitting and shaping of the balance spring on all types of steel balance springs (flat and with Breguet curve from 1839 to present) according to Patek Philippe quality criteria. At the same time, you will be the guardian of the expertise on steel balance springs which you will pass on through training sessions.
Responsibilities
- Perform traditionally the operations of collet fitting, stud fitting and shaping of the balance spring (flat balance spring or with Breguet curve).
- Ensure the aesthetic, technical and dimensional control of the balance spring to guarantee its conformity according to our quality criteria.
- Carry out the necessary analyses and studies to reproduce balance springs for historical pieces.
- Transmit your expertise through training to support watchmakers in acquiring the skills necessary for trades related to balance springs and regulating organs.
Profile sought
- Swiss Federal VET Diploma in Watchmaking or equivalent training.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the production of steel balance springs.
- Proven mastery of traditional techniques related to the balance spring.
- In-depth knowledge of movements and regulating organs.
- High manual dexterity and precision of movement.
- Ease in communicating constructively.
- Experience in training pedagogy and transmission of expertise.
- Excellent analytical skills, rigor, autonomy and sense of responsibility.
