Role:

On behalf of a client, we are seeking an experienced professional as an ETH / FH architect for an established Swiss architectural firm specialising in demanding new build, conversion, and renovation projects. You will take on a central role in project implementation and execution planning, accompanying construction projects from the preliminary design through technical detailed development to realisation. The focus is on coordinating complex planning and construction processes, competently supporting clients, and developing architecturally convincing and constructively feasible architectural solutions. The position combines architectural design, independent project management, and practical construction coordination with high personal responsibility and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Independent handling and management of demanding architectural projects from preliminary design through execution planning to construction implementation

• Organisation and coordination of complex planning and construction processes for new build, conversion, and renovation projects

• Development and further development of architectural concepts considering design, functional, technical, and economic requirements

• Creation and coordination of project, execution, and detail plans with ArchiCAD, taking into account relevant Swiss planning standards

• Development of constructive and design detail solutions for façades, building envelopes, interior fittings, and project-specific component connections

• Comprehensive advice and support of clients during the design and execution phases

• Coordination of specialist planners, experts, and contractors to ensure technically coordinated and feasible planning

• Ensuring transparent information flow between clients, architecture team, specialist planning, site management, and other project participants

• Monitoring planning quality and project progress including scheduling, task management, and early identification of conflicts of objectives

• Participation in preparation and coordination of construction execution as well as handling technical queries and project-specific plan adjustments

• Quality assurance of architectural implementation by reviewing execution details, materialisation, and compliance with design project goals

• Compliance with relevant SIA standards and Swiss building regulations as well as support in optimising internal planning and project management processes

Qualifications:

• Completed architecture studies at ETH or FH or equivalent recognised higher education in architecture

• Several years of professional experience in a Swiss architectural office, especially in the design and execution planning of demanding new build and conversion projects

• Experience in project coordination and client support as well as understanding of interfaces between architectural planning, construction execution, and client relations

• Sound knowledge of building construction and detail planning as well as a strong understanding of architectural quality and technical feasibility

• Very good knowledge of ArchiCAD and confident use of common applications such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop

• Knowledge of Swiss SIA phases, construction processes, and technical standards; experience working with general contractors is an advantage

• Good German language skills in spoken and written form as well as a structured, responsible working style with strong team and communication skills
