Linux Network Platform Engineer (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF100,000 - 125,000Role:
As a Linux Network Platform Engineer, you are responsible for the automation, logic, stability, and evolution of highly available Linux systems that power our communication platform. In this role, you take responsibility for the engine room of our platform and ensure the smooth operation of softswitches, media gateways, signalling routers, and core packet gateways. You are accountable for the logic, stability, and evolution of these systems to guarantee maximum availability, performance, and flexibility. Your expertise and experience as a professional enable you to master complex systems and develop innovative solutions. You are the key to the success of our communication platform and contribute to keeping our systems always up to date.
Responsibilities:
You design, write, and maintain production scripts to automate complex routing, traffic monitoring, daily operations, and mass subscriber deployments
In this role, you develop configuration management logic to deploy, configure, and maintain consistency across our redundant production clusters
As a Linux Network Platform Engineer, you plan and execute large OS/kernel migrations and updates of core network services with zero-downtime strategies
You manage deep network configurations under Linux, including IP routing, iptables/nftables, VRRP, keepalived, VLAN tagging, and BGP/OSPF dynamic routing
In this role, you optimise for high volumes and low latency of VoIP/SIP and mobile data streams and integrate performance metrics with Grafana and other stacks
As a Linux Network Platform Engineer, you participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support our critical SLA commitments and perform in-depth PCAP/Wireshark packet analyses to resolve complex SIP or GTP signalling anomalies
Qualifications:
You have deep experience with Linux system administration, especially with enterprise Linux distributions such as Debian or Mageia.
You possess solid skills in scripting for system integration and automation.
You have experience configuring infrastructures using configuration management and automation tools.
You have a good understanding of IP networks, including OSI layers, TCP/IP, IP routing protocols such as BGP or OSPF, and Linux-native networking tools.
You have practical experience with upgrading production systems, orchestrating blue-green deployments, or performing live migrations of critical databases or daemon services.
You have experience managing databases under Linux, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, or Redis.
You are fluent in German and ideally proficient in English.
