Role:
Every security vulnerability discovered early is one less attack. This is exactly where you come in as a Junior Cloud Security Engineer, learning to view IT environments through the eyes of an attacker. In daily work, you accompany vulnerability analyses and monitor log data in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). You will increasingly understand how to effectively secure cloud infrastructures in Azure. Experienced professionals will support you, and with each week, you will take on a bit more responsibility.
Responsibilities:
You analyse events in Microsoft Sentinel and escalate anomalies to the responsible specialists.
With vulnerability scans, you detect vulnerable systems and track remediation together with the system owners.
Furthermore, you assist in hardening Windows servers and clients according to recognised standards such as the CIS Benchmarks.
You check security settings in Azure and Microsoft 365 (M365) and document deviations comprehensibly.
Additionally, you automate recurring processes with PowerShell.
You also keep security policies and operational documentation up to date.
Qualifications:
You have successfully completed an apprenticeship as an IT specialist, a higher technical college, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
Ideally, you bring initial professional experience in system technology or networking, also from an internship.
You have a solid foundation in Windows environments, network protocols, and cloud services.
Preferably, you hold a certification such as CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft SC-900. This is a plus but not mandatory.
You approach problems with curiosity, work in a structured manner, and openly share your knowledge.
Moreover, you communicate effortlessly in German, and technical texts in English pose no difficulties for you.
