The SBB Infrastructure Division is responsible for the construction, maintenance and operation of the infrastructure, and in the area of "Network Design, Facilities and Technology" the strategic and technological facility management is ensured. The "Civil Engineering" department is responsible for the SBB-wide technical leadership for tunnels, bridges, retaining structures, earthworks, noise barriers, drinking water supply systems and wastewater disposal systems of civil engineering structures. We develop techniques, specifications and methods for new construction, maintenance and monitoring of civil engineering structures. What you can achieve.
- In this exciting role, you take on the technical leadership of retaining structures with a focus on structural civil engineering for new construction and maintenance projects of the SBB infrastructure and support the departments of tunnel construction, geotechnics and specialised civil engineering.
- Under your responsibility, you review project dossiers from variant studies to preliminary and construction projects for retaining structures and cut-and-cover tunnels with regard to the correct implementation of technical regulations and qualitative requirements. In doing so, you maintain close contact with the executing project managers and monitoring specialists.
- You provide expert services within the SBB for the assessment of existing retaining structures and strategic and operational advice for the implementation of construction measures.
- In your role, you further develop SBB technical specifications and guidelines for new construction and maintenance measures and monitoring for retaining structures. You conduct regular coordination with the authorities and actively participate in working groups for standards development.
- You initiate and accompany research projects for innovations and further developments in structural civil engineering and for the monitoring of retaining structures.

- You have several years of practical experience in structural civil engineering.
- You are familiar with the state of science and technology in structural civil engineering and bring expertise in railway operations as well as the relevant regulations.
- For this role, we require a completed degree in civil engineering (FH/University/ETH).
- You communicate fluently in German (at least C1) and your Italian or French skills are good (at least B2).
