Azure Cloud Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
Cloud engineering with ambition: building, automating and scaling secure platforms.
You don’t just want to manage Azure, but actively develop it as a modern platform? In this role, you combine cloud engineering, security, automation and platform architecture to create the foundation for stable and scalable digital services.
Responsibilities:
Building and further developing a modern Azure platform
Designing Azure landing zones, subscriptions and central platform services
Developing scalable network architectures with private endpoints, DNS and secure connectivity concepts
Implementing modern identity and access management strategies with Microsoft Entra ID
Configuring and further developing RBAC, PIM and conditional access
Integrating zero-trust principles and security-by-design into the cloud platform
Implementing security standards with Azure Policy and Microsoft Defender for Cloud
Developing and maintaining infrastructure as code with Terraform, Bicep and ARM
Automating cloud processes with PowerShell and Azure CLI
Building and optimising CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform services
Establishing monitoring, logging, alerting and observability
Analysing complex incidents and conducting sustainable root cause analyses
Designing and implementing backup, recovery and resilience solutions
Optimising cloud costs, performance and resource utilisation
Contributing to migrations and modernisation projects
Close collaboration with architecture, security, development, operations and external specialists
Qualifications:
Degree or higher education in computer science, business informatics or a comparable technical field
Several years of practical experience in Azure cloud engineering or cloud operations
Solid knowledge of Azure platform architecture, security and identity management
Experience with Azure landing zones, networking and central platform services
Very good knowledge of infrastructure as code, ideally with Terraform and Bicep
Experience with CI/CD, Git and automated deployment processes
Good knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, PIM and conditional access
Understanding of cloud security, governance, monitoring and compliance
Experience with PowerShell or Azure CLI
Analytical and structured approach to complex technical challenges
Ability to identify technical risks early and derive sustainable solutions
High sense of responsibility for security, stability and data protection
Enjoyment of automation, modern cloud methods and continuous improvement
