Chief Site Manager for Transport Infrastructure Construction (m/f/d)

Role:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced professional as Chief Site Manager: Transport Infrastructure Construction for the realisation of demanding large-scale projects in Swiss infrastructure construction. You will take overall responsibility from tendering through construction execution to commissioning and lead an interdisciplinary team of site managers and project assistants. The focus is on transport infrastructure construction, road construction, construction scheduling, contract management, as well as cost, schedule, and quality control. Depending on project experience, you will also take on tasks in senior site management and advise clients and internal planning teams on complex realisation issues.
Responsibilities:
Independent management of demanding large-scale projects in transport infrastructure and road construction
Responsibility for realisation from the tendering and awarding phase through to commissioning
Technical leadership and coordination of a team of site managers and project assistants
Organisation and control of construction processes, construction phases, traffic management, and site logistics
Responsibility for cost, schedule, quality, and performance control during realisation
Conducting and leading construction, coordination, and contractor meetings
Monitoring of executing companies regarding contracts, execution quality, and scheduling
Review and assessment of quantities, extra work, claims, and contractor invoices
Support of tendering, offer evaluations, awarding, and procurement procedures
Coordination with clients, authorities, planning offices, construction companies, and other specialist departments
Taking on tasks in senior site management for complex infrastructure and large-scale projects
Support of acceptances, commissioning, defect rectification, and project documentation
Qualifications:
Training as Construction Manager HF, Civil Engineer FH/ETH or comparable higher technical construction qualification
Several years of professional experience in site management and realisation of transport infrastructure or road construction projects
Experience in chief site management or management of large construction sites is an advantage
Sound knowledge of tendering, procurement, construction execution, and contract management
Experience in cost, schedule, claims, and quality management
Good knowledge of relevant SIA and VSS standards as well as Swiss civil engineering processes
Very good German language skills for negotiations, meeting management, and project documentation
