Project Manager Client Representation (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for a committed professional for client representation and construction project management of demanding large-scale construction projects in the Basel, Zurich and Bern regions. You will support project management and clients in the development, planning, tendering and realisation of complex construction projects and accompany all project phases up to handover and defect management. The focus is on project control, cost, schedule and quality management as well as the coordination of interdisciplinary planning teams. The position offers both experienced construction professionals and ambitious junior staff the opportunity to develop further in professional client management and the control of large projects.

Responsibilities:

• Client representation and construction project management for demanding new build, conversion and large-scale construction projects from project development to key handover

• Project control according to SIA phases with support of project management in planning, tendering, execution and project completion

• Cost, schedule and quality controlling including monitoring of project budgets, schedules, milestones and quality requirements

• Coordination and interface management between clients, architects, specialist planners, authorities as well as general and total contractors (GC/TC)

• Project organisation and meeting management including preparation and participation in client, planning and project management meetings

• Minute taking and task management with structured follow-up of decisions, tasks, responsibilities and deadlines

• Preparation of decision-making bases through variant comparisons, cost analyses, technical clarifications and project reports

• Risk and opportunity management with identification, assessment and monitoring of project-relevant risks as well as appropriate measures

• Tendering and awarding management with support in the preparation of tender documents, offer comparisons and awarding recommendations

• Project controlling and reporting including preparation of project key figures, status reports, cost forecasts and management information

• Document and information management with structured administration of plans, contracts, minutes and project documentation via digital project platforms

• Construction acceptance, handover and defect management with accompaniment of final inspections, monitoring of defect rectification and ensuring complete project documentation

Qualifications:

• Completed construction-technical training as draughtsperson EFZ specialising in architecture or civil engineering, certified technician HF in construction planning/construction management or FH/ETH degree in architecture or civil engineering

• Professional experience in construction planning, site management, project management or client representation is an advantage; also suitable for junior project managers with appropriate technical training

• Knowledge of Swiss construction processes and SIA phases as well as basics in cost planning, schedule management, tendering and construction administration

• Basic knowledge of construction contract law, especially SIA 118, as well as experience with general and total contractor models is an advantage

• Very good user knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint; experience with MS Project, Messerli or digital project platforms is an advantage

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for project documentation, minute taking and technical coordination

• Willingness for occasional project assignments and site visits in the Basel, Zurich and Bern regions
