Role:
Stable networks do not arise by chance but through clean architecture and clear standards. As a Network & Firewall Engineer, you are responsible for the company-wide network infrastructure from routing through switching to the firewall landscape. You work closely with system and security engineers and confidently address technical topics. You pass on your knowledge and thus shape the quality throughout the team.
Responsibilities:
You plan, implement, and operate the network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, and WLAN.
You configure, operate, and continuously develop the firewall landscape.
You analyse network environment faults and resolve them in 2nd and 3rd level support.
Furthermore, you ensure the stability, scalability, and availability of the entire environment.
You maintain and specifically expand documentation, standards, and operating concepts.
Additionally, you advise internal stakeholders on network and security issues.
Qualifications:
You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Several years of professional experience in the network environment distinguish you.
You have solid knowledge in several areas such as VPN, VLAN, DNS, certificate handling, routing, and firewalling.
You are proficient with relevant protocols including OSPF and BGP.
Furthermore, you organise yourself, prioritise wisely, and explain complex matters understandably to non-IT professionals.
You are also enthusiastic about mentoring younger employees and communicate confidently in German and English.
