Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced project manager for the planning and realisation of municipal and cantonal civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for diverse projects in road, sewer, and utility construction from planning to execution and will take on both project and construction management. In addition to controlling quality, costs, and deadlines, you will lead interdisciplinary project teams and coordinate external specialist planners and project partners. Modern planning methods with 2D/3D and BIM form an important basis for the efficient implementation of infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Independent project and construction management of municipal, cantonal, and private civil engineering projects
Planning and realisation of projects in road construction, sewer construction, and utility construction as well as cross-trade combined projects
Management of projects through the relevant planning, tendering, and implementation phases
Responsibility for costs, deadlines, quality, and project controlling as well as early handling of project deviations
Leadership of the internal project team and coordination of draftsmen, designers, and external specialist planners
Development and coordination of technical solutions for traffic facilities, drainage, sewerage, and utilities
Collaboration with planning teams in 2D/3D and BIM-based planning processes
Preparation and coordination of tender and submission documents as well as support in awarding contracts and contractor negotiations
Execution of on-site construction management, execution control, and coordination of the involved companies
Coordination and negotiation with clients, municipalities, cantonal authorities, utility operators, and contractors
Coordination of projects within engineering partnerships and ensuring technical interfaces
Preparation of project reports, decision bases, cost forecasts, and status reports for clients and internal management bodies
Qualifications:
Degree as Civil Engineer FH/ETH (BSc/MSc) or comparable higher education in civil engineering
Several years of professional experience in the planning and/or construction management of municipal civil engineering projects in Switzerland
Sound knowledge in road, sewer, and utility construction
Experience in project management, cost planning, tendering, and schedule control
Knowledge of relevant SIA standards, Swiss civil engineering standards, and approval procedures
Experience with CAD/2D/3D planning and BIM processes is an advantage
Very good German language skills for negotiations with authorities, clients, and project partners
