Role:

Security is not created by tools alone but through clear structures and consistent implementation. This is exactly where you come in as a Microsoft Security Engineer, embedding information security deeply in the infrastructure from on-premises to the cloud. With Microsoft Defender and modern security platforms, you create transparency about risks. At the same time, you keep an eye on servers, virtualisation, and platform services. The role combines operational responsibility with creative freedom.

Responsibilities:

• You build and operate a structured vulnerability management system from scans through risk assessment to control of measures.

• You translate regulatory and normative requirements for information security into concrete technical solutions.

• Additionally, you maintain configurations of systems such as Extended Detection and Response (XDR), SIEM, and PAM and manage external service providers.

• You further develop hardening standards for clients and servers and continuously identify technical optimisation potential.

• In IT security incidents, you actively participate in incident response.

• Furthermore, you lead security projects, accompany system implementations, and support the setup and operation of platform services based on vSphere and cloud services.

Qualifications:

• A completed degree in computer science or a related field forms your foundation.

• You have already gained experience in security and system engineering, either through training or practical project work.

• You feel at home in Microsoft 365 (M365) and Azure and know the security aspects of cloud environments.

• You have solid know-how in Windows Server including AD, DNS, DHCP, and GPO.

• You approach tasks in a structured and independent manner while always keeping the needs of internal customers in mind.

• Additionally, you learn enthusiastically, show initiative, keep a cool head under pressure, and enjoy exchanging ideas across team boundaries.
