Construction Project Manager (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced specialist for construction project management in building construction with comprehensive responsibility from construction decision to acceptance and handover. In this management role, you will manage demanding construction projects in terms of costs, deadlines, quality and contract management and ensure a professional overall project organisation. You will lead planning and coordination meetings, take on the local site management and monitor contract- and standard-compliant execution on site. The position combines operational construction management with project control, quality assurance and direct reporting to the construction management leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for operational construction project management and implementation of planning in the relevant SIA phases from construction decision

• Establishment and management of an appropriate overall project organisation including coordination of all planning and execution participants

• Responsibility for cost, schedule and quality management as well as ongoing project controlling and early management of deviations

• Leading and minuting planning, coordination and construction meetings as well as consistent follow-up of decisions and pending issues

• Taking over the local site management and actively managing contractors, construction processes and interfaces on site

• Monitoring and enforcement of contracts, contractual bases and agreed quality requirements with project partners

• Review of measurements, contractor invoices and claims as well as preparation and control of contractor billing

• Execution and coordination of acceptances, defect management and follow-up inspections until contract-compliant completion

• Responsibility for plan checks and quality assurance regarding feasibility, contractual bases, project specifications and relevant SIA standards

• Inspection of executed work regarding quality, completeness, compliance with standards and conformity with execution planning

• Preparation of project status, cost and schedule reports as well as regular reporting to construction management leadership

• Ensuring complete construction and project documentation including acceptance, revision and final documents

Qualifications:

• Solid basic construction technical training, for example draftsman EFZ specialising in architecture (building construction), with further training as certified construction manager or certified technician HF

• Several years of experience in construction project management and local site management of demanding building construction projects in Switzerland

• Experience on the side of total/general contracting or construction management is an advantage

• Sound knowledge in cost management, schedule control, quality assurance, measurement and contractor billing

• Very good knowledge of relevant SIA standards, contracts and Swiss contractual bases

• Confident use of common construction administration, cost and project management software

• Experience in leading and managing contractors, specialist planners and project participants
