Linux & Kubernetes Platform Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
As a Linux & Kubernetes Platform Engineer (m/f/d), you are responsible for the stable operation and further development of our modern Linux and Kubernetes platforms. You automate processes using DevOps methods, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD, and together with the team ensure a secure, reliable and highly available 7x24 operation of our IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Operation and further development of the Linux server landscape (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server) as well as the Kubernetes platform with SUSE Rancher (RKE2)
Automation of infrastructure processes with Ansible, Infrastructure as Code and management of the AWX platform
Building and operating CI/CD pipelines on Forgejo as well as support for development and application teams
Ensuring stable platform operation through monitoring, 2nd-level support, updates and release management
Implementation of security measures such as OS hardening, vulnerability remediation and management of accounts, certificates and secrets
On-call duty (7x24) to ensure system availability and reliable operation
Qualifications:
Completed technical education (technical college, FH, university, ETH) or comparable practical experience
Very good knowledge in operating Linux systems and Kubernetes environments in highly available 7x24 operational environments
Practical experience with Ansible, DevOps methods, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation
Experience with platform security, network technologies (DNS, load balancing, firewalls) as well as distributed and highly available systems is an advantage
ITIL certification and additional technical certifications in the areas of cloud or open source are desirable
Willingness for on-call duty and work outside regular hours
Very good German skills (C2) and good English skills (B2); French skills (B1) are an advantage
