Senior Cyber Security Engineer (m/f/d)

You analyse and handle security-relevant events together with the security and operations team and contribute to recognising threats early and dealing with them effectively.
You continuously develop our detection capabilities and derive concrete requirements for rules, use cases, and detection mechanisms.
You assess the existing coverage, analyse the quality of alerts, and identify targeted improvement potentials.
You further develop security platforms and detection & response solutions and automate recurring processes using playbooks, scripting, and orchestration.
You optimise existing processes around detection, investigation, and response and ensure a higher degree of automation in the security operations environment.
You support the further development of capabilities in areas such as cyber threat intelligence, data loss prevention, and vulnerability management.
You work closely with various technical teams and relevant stakeholders and actively bring security topics into projects and decision-making processes.
You help not only to handle security incidents but also to derive sustainable improvements for the entire security landscape from them.
Qualifications:
You have a degree in IT, cyber security, computer science, or a comparable education with relevant professional experience.
You bring several years of experience in security operations and are familiar with the processes of detection, investigation, and response from practice.
You have experience in automating security processes and in building or further developing detection & response solutions.
You have in-depth practical knowledge in at least two areas such as detection engineering, vulnerability management, data loss prevention, or cyber threat intelligence.
You have solid experience with modern cloud security environments and security platforms and understand their interaction within a complex IT landscape.
Experience with SIEM, XDR, SOAR, or comparable security solutions is an advantage.
An advanced certification in cyber security or security operations is a plus but not mandatory.
You have good scripting skills and enjoy making security processes more efficient and reliable through automation.
