Network Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you ensure the reliable operation and continuous development of modern telecommunications, network, and server infrastructures. You work with SMPP, SS7/SIGTRAN and complex IP networks, analyse demanding technical challenges, and further develop stable and high-performance connectivity solutions for customers and partners.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the operation, monitoring, and support of SMPP, SS7/SIGTRAN, SCTP as well as M3UA connections with customers, carriers, and international telecommunications partners
Conducting fault analyses and sustainable resolution of L2 incidents in the areas of network, signalling, and protocol communication
Administration and optimisation of Cisco network environments, Palo Alto firewalls, VPN connections, VLANs, NAT, and BGP routing
Support and further development of Linux-based system landscapes, Proxmox VE, Ceph, ZFS as well as modern server and storage infrastructures
Participation in the implementation of IT infrastructure projects, building and maintaining monitoring solutions, backup and restore processes, high-availability concepts, as well as support in on-call duty
Qualifications:
Completed training in computer science, system engineering or a comparable field (computer scientist EFZ, ICT system and network technician, CCNA or similar)
Very good knowledge of modern network technologies such as TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, NTP, and network segmentation
Practical experience in Linux system administration as well as handling Wireshark, troubleshooting, and analysing complex network faults
Knowledge in telecommunications and messaging infrastructures such as SMPP, SS7, SIGTRAN, SCTP or related protocols is an advantage
Experience with firewalls, VPN solutions, virtualisation platforms (Proxmox, VMware) as well as supporting server hardware
Very good communication skills in German and English, both spoken and written
