What you can contribute

• Lead the Influenza Virus Infections and Viral Vectors group from a technical and personnel management perspective
• Publish research results in scientific journals and present them at scientific conferences
• Raise third-party funds and ensure the planning, coordination, execution and evaluation of research projects
• Contribute to university teaching and the training of doctoral candidates, master’s students and scientific staff
• Write and submit applications for authorisation to conduct animal experiments and manage the corresponding permits, prepare and submit interim and final reports in animex-ch

What makes you unique

• University degree in veterinary medicine, biology or a related field, and a doctorate in virology
• Research experience, with recognised expertise in avian virus biology and publications in this field
• Experience in personnel management and proven ability to secure third-party funding
• International network in the relevant field and experience in university teaching and animal experimentation
• Very good knowledge of at least one official language and English

The Institute of Virology and Immunology (IVI) develops innovative solutions to combat animal diseases and viral zoonoses, and provides diagnostics in crisis situations. Epizootics, emerging animal diseases and infectious diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans (zoonoses) represent major challenges for our society.
