Cyber Security Analyst (m/f/d)

Role:
Cyber attacks are constantly evolving – modern security therefore needs people who not only observe events but recognise connections and act purposefully. We are looking for an analytically strong personality who combines security operations with technical understanding and actively contributes to making digital infrastructures more resilient.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring and analysing security-relevant events within modern IT environments
Handling and prioritising security alerts, requests and incidents
Conducting structured incident response processes from detection to follow-up
Analysing log data, system events and suspicious activities
Detecting attack patterns, anomalies and potential compromises
Initiating and coordinating appropriate containment and countermeasures
Performing root cause analyses after security-relevant events
Evaluating existing security controls regarding effectiveness and technical coverage
Identifying weaknesses in security processes and deriving concrete improvement measures
Supporting the further development of detection and response mechanisms
Analysing current cyber threats, attack techniques and relevant threat intelligence
Assessing new threat scenarios regarding possible impacts on IT systems
Preparing technical security findings for internal specialist departments
Contributing to the further development of security policies, standards and operational processes
Supporting security assessments and technical improvement projects
Qualifications:
Several years of professional experience in IT operations, system engineering, software engineering or a comparable technical environment
Strong interest in cyber security and modern attack techniques
Ideally experience in security operations, incident response or security monitoring
Good understanding of networks, operating systems and modern IT infrastructures
Experience with SIEM, log management or monitoring platforms is an advantage
Knowledge in areas such as endpoint security, identity security, network security or vulnerability management is a plus
Analytical thinking and enjoyment in examining technical contexts in detail
Structured and independent working style
High sense of responsibility in security-critical events
University degree in computer science, cyber security, computer science or a comparable technical field
Very good German skills and good English skills
