Project Manager Structural Engineering (m/f/d)

Role:
On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced ETH/FH civil engineer as project manager in structural engineering for demanding construction projects in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. You will handle and lead projects ranging from complex conversions to high-quality reinforced concrete and exposed concrete structures to excavations and excavation support. The focus is on structural design, statics, structural processing and interdisciplinary project coordination using current Swiss standards and digital planning methods. Additionally, the position offers interfaces to infrastructure projects as well as modern BIM/VDC and automation processes.
Responsibilities:
Independent project management in structural engineering from concept development to realisation
Planning and dimensioning of demanding structures made of reinforced concrete, steel and other structural materials
Handling of conversion, new construction and refurbishment projects as well as development of technically and economically suitable structural concepts
Execution and verification of static calculations, structural analyses and structural proofs
Planning and dimensioning of excavations, excavation support and temporary supporting structures
Development of structural solutions for exposed concrete buildings and architecturally demanding structures
Technical leadership and coordination of project teams as well as management of assigned engineering services
Coordination of interfaces with architects, clients, specialist planners and contractors
Responsibility for deadlines, quality, costs and technical documentation within the projects managed
Application of relevant SIA standards and Swiss structural standards and ensuring norm-compliant planning and dimensioning
Participation in BIM/VDC processes and interdisciplinary coordination of digital planning models
Further development and optimisation of calculation, planning and automation processes in structural engineering
Qualifications:
Completed studies as certified civil engineer ETH or FH, ideally with a focus on construction/structure
Several years of professional experience in structural engineering and structural design
Sound knowledge in statics, reinforced concrete construction, structural dimensioning as well as excavations and excavation support
Very good knowledge of current SIA standards and Swiss structural standards
Experience in project management and technical leadership of engineering teams
Knowledge of BIM/VDC and digital calculation and planning processes is an advantage
Fluent German skills in spoken and written form
