Job Description

Responsibilities Social educators are responsible for supporting young people in vulnerable situations within a specialised care facility, focusing on promoting their overall well-being, autonomy and social integration. Their main responsibilities are as follows:

• Actively engage in the daily lives of young people and implement evidence-based educational and therapeutic programmes in accordance with the institution's standards. - Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery. - Supervise the implementation and facilitation of structured therapeutic activities, including psychodrama, climbing and circus-inspired interventions.
• Maintain professional relationships with families and external professionals to promote comprehensive care. - Establish and apply eligibility criteria for programme participation and systematically monitor participants' progress. - Write comprehensive reports, keep detailed individual records up to date and prepare clinical documentation in accordance with institutional protocols.
• Strictly adhere to all institutional procedures and professional standards governing the provision of care and support services. - Contribute to the strategic development and continuous improvement of the unit's operation and service delivery. - Conduct risk assessments and implement protective measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all young people in the facility.
• Participate in crisis interventions and implement de-escalation techniques when necessary, maintaining a calm and caring attitude. - Engage in reflective practice and clinical supervision to improve professional skills and service quality. - Contribute to data collection and analysis on outcomes to evaluate programme effectiveness and guide service improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma in social education ES or HES.
• Experience in psychiatry (5 years) and/or child psychiatry (an asset).
• Interest in group therapeutic work.
• Ability to work within a demanding institutional framework.
• Professional skills: analysis, writing, interdisciplinarity.
• Interpersonal skills: listening, communication, collaboration.
• Personal skills: adaptability, ethics, sense of responsibility.
