Role:

On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced leader as Head of Energy / Power Grid for the technical and operational responsibility of a regional energy supply. You will lead the Power Grid division, be responsible for employees, investment and maintenance projects, and ensure a safe, reliable, and economical network operation. Additionally, you will oversee energy production facilities, be responsible for budgeting and project planning, and ensure compliance with occupational safety, quality, and supply security requirements. As deputy to the overall management, you will also take responsibility for overarching operational and strategic matters of a public utility company.

Responsibilities:

• Technical, personnel, and organisational management of the Power Grid / Energy Supply division

• Leadership, deployment planning, and professional development of employees in network operation and network maintenance

• Ensuring high supply, operational, and plant safety in the regional distribution network

• Responsibility for network planning, network expansion, renewal, and maintenance of the electrical infrastructure

• Planning, budgeting, and implementation of investment, maintenance, and infrastructure projects

• Technical and operational supervision of energy production facilities including monitoring of operation and availability

• Responsibility for budget, cost control, investment planning, and project controlling within the department

• Definition and monitoring of requirements for quality, occupational safety, and technical operational processes

• Coordination of network construction, maintenance, and repair work with internal specialist departments, companies, and authorities

• Further development of the network infrastructure regarding energy transition, decentralised production, and future network requirements

• Ensuring compliance with relevant high-voltage regulations, ESTI requirements, and industry standards

• Assuming the deputy management of the Technical Operations and participating in strategic and business management decisions

Qualifications:

• Completed basic electrical engineering training EFZ, ideally as a network electrician EFZ or comparable qualification

• Advanced training as federally certified master network electrician, FH electrical engineer or comparable qualification in the field of energy supply

• Several years of professional experience in power supply, distribution networks, network operation or network infrastructure

• Experience in technical and personnel leadership as well as in managing technical projects

• Sound knowledge in network planning, operation, maintenance, supply security and occupational safety

• Business management training or proven experience in budgeting, investment planning and operational control

• Knowledge of relevant ESTI requirements, high-voltage regulations and Swiss energy supply standards
