As a Microsoft Cloud Security Engineer, you develop technical security solutions for modern enterprise environments and ensure that cloud, identity and endpoint technologies are operated securely. Your focus is on Microsoft Security, Detection & Response, Vulnerability Management and the automation of security controls.
You work on challenging issues around Microsoft Sentinel, Defender and Entra ID and contribute your expertise to interdisciplinary teams. At the same time, you take responsibility for security-relevant services and support the further development of security architectures, standards and processes.
Responsibilities:
Development and implementation of security architectures for Microsoft cloud, identity, endpoint and infrastructure components
Ensuring security requirements during evaluation, introduction and configuration of new technologies and services
Administration and optimisation of Microsoft Sentinel including data connections, retention and cost management
Development of KQL queries, threat-hunting use cases, detection rules and security analyses
Analysis of security findings, misconfigurations and vulnerabilities as well as coordination of appropriate measures with cloud, DevOps and endpoint teams
Participation in incident response, audits and security assessments as well as automation of security processes with PowerShell or Python
Qualifications:
Completed higher education in computer science, cyber security or comparable practical qualification with several years of security experience
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Security, especially Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps and Sentinel
Very good experience with Microsoft Sentinel and KQL including log analysis, threat hunting and complex multi-table queries
Knowledge of Entra ID, Active Directory, Conditional Access, Identity Protection and zero-trust concepts
Experience with vulnerability scanning, risk analyses, security remediation and the development of automated security controls
Strong analytical and communication skills, high service orientation as well as very good German and good English skills
