Construction Cost Planner Building Construction (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for a numerically inclined and entrepreneurial professional for construction cost planning and calculation of demanding building construction projects. The position is suitable both for experienced construction cost planners and for ambitious professionals from construction management, architecture or construction planning who wish to develop specifically towards cost planning. You will take responsibility for cost estimates, quantity determinations, general contractor/total contractor offer calculations and economic project optimisations. The focus is on precise analysis of construction costs, economic evaluation of project variants and cost-oriented support of competitions and project developments.

Responsibilities:

• Independent preparation of cost estimates, cost determinations and detailed cost planning for demanding building construction projects in various development and planning phases

• Determination and verification of quantities and measurements based on architectural plans, construction descriptions, digital planning models and other project documents

• Calculation of general contractor and total contractor offers (GU/TU) taking into account construction services, project requirements, risks and economic objectives

• Development and structuring of construction cost calculations according to BKP and eBKP-H as well as application of relevant Swiss cost planning standards

• Cost support for architectural competitions and study assignments including economic assessment of design variants and project concepts

• Conducting cost analyses, profitability calculations and variant comparisons to identify savings and optimisation potentials

• Support of internal project developments by preparing investment cost estimates, cost indicators and financial decision bases

• Building and maintaining comprehensible calculation bases and cost indicators based on realised projects, market price developments and current contractor offers

• Review and plausibility check of cost calculations from external planning and project partners regarding completeness, economic efficiency and project-specific requirements

• Collaboration with architecture, project development, construction management and other disciplines for early integration of economic requirements into planning

• Development of cost optimisation proposals considering constructive, technical, design and qualitative project goals

• Preparation and presentation of cost reports, calculations and decision bases for project managers, executive management and clients

Qualifications:

• Completed technical training as architect FH/ETH, certified technician HF construction planning, construction manager or a comparable qualification in building construction

• Professional experience in construction cost planning, construction management, architecture or project planning with interest in deepening specialisation in calculation and cost management

• Good understanding of building construction, construction processes, materials and execution methods as well as ability to economically assess technical planning documents

• Knowledge of the Swiss cost planning systematics according to BKP and eBKP-H as well as relevant SIA standards and cost management processes or willingness to deepen this knowledge specifically

• Confident handling of MS Excel and common digital planning tools; experience with construction calculation software, Messerli, BauPlus or comparable applications is an advantage

• Strong numerical understanding, analytical thinking and entrepreneurial mindset as well as a structured, careful and independent working style

• Good German language skills in spoken and written form for preparing calculations and cost reports as well as initiative, teamwork and enjoyment in economically optimising complex construction projects
