Electrical Engineer Drive and Software (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF105,000 - 125,000The ROCKEN partner specialises in the design and manufacture of ships for a variety of professional applications. This includes ships for public local passenger transport, tourist activities, the transport of goods, as well as special authority and rescue boats. The company offers a comprehensive range of services, from strategic maintenance planning to short-term technical deployments.
Role:
As an Electrical Engineer for Drive and Software, you actively shape shipping by developing innovative solutions for future-oriented drive and software systems. In this role, you take responsibility for the conception and further development of individual, non-standardised solutions that technologically advance the maritime sector. You analyse complex requirements, design suitable system architectures, and accompany projects from the idea to successful implementation. You work closely with various departments and ensure that technical innovation, quality, and safety are guaranteed at all times. Through your commitment, you contribute decisively to making maritime technologies more efficient, sustainable, and powerful.
Responsibilities:
- You design, calculate, simulate, and develop electrical, electronic, and automated systems, systems and controls for ships including hardware and software.
- In this role, you conceive, conduct, and evaluate measurements of electrical and shipbuilding data on ships in operation.
- You develop electrical systems for alternative ship drives, onboard power generation, and shore power connection.
- In this role, you create feasibility studies for electrical and electronic systems, energy systems, controls, and regulations on ships.
- You prepare execution documents such as schematics and installation plans for electrical systems, systems, and controls.
- In this role, you support suppliers, customers, and internal system integrators during commissioning of new drive and energy systems on site at the customer.
Qualifications:
- You have a completed degree as an electrical engineer ETH/FH with a focus on drive and energy technology or automation, ideally combined with experience in software development.
- You have practical experience in automation and system technology or system integration as well as in the use of appropriate sensors and actuators.
- You bring experience in measurement technology and know the relevant measurement methods and devices.
- You are proficient in using tools such as Engineering Base, Matlab or Scilab, Python, Automation Studio, and Step7.
- You have sound knowledge of electrical machines, their control, as well as design and calculation principles and design standards in electrical and apparatus engineering.
- You communicate very well in German and English, both spoken and written; French and Italian are advantageous, and you are willing to undertake multi-day business trips (on average about 20%).
