About the job
This is what the professional everyday life looks like
Do you enjoy working with numbers, recognise connections, and take pleasure in preparing data in an understandable way? Do you want to contribute with your work to ensuring that capacities and resources in the hospital are used according to demand and economically? Then you are exactly right with us. In Integral Capacity Management (IKM), we deal with the planning and control of our outpatient and inpatient capacities. The aim is to reconcile the needs of our patients with the available resources and the hospital's economic requirements. As a data manager, you ensure that the necessary data and information are available to us. You create reports, key figures, and evaluations and continuously develop them further. This makes developments visible and creates a reliable basis for operational and strategic decisions. You work closely with the IKM management and various specialist departments and support us in continuously developing our capacity planning and control. Your tasks:
- You develop meaningful reports, key figures, and forecasting models as a basis for operational capacity control and strategic planning
- You analyse the utilisation of our outpatient and inpatient areas, identify bottlenecks and unused capacities, and derive concrete courses of action from this
- You link performance planning, target bed logic, and personnel resources, thereby creating the data basis for demand-oriented and economical capacity planning
- You develop various control scenarios together with the IKM management, check their effects using simulations, and evaluate the results
- You further develop our reporting tools, link various data sources, and automate recurring evaluations and processes
- You prepare complex analyses in an understandable way and develop well-founded decision bases for operational and strategic issues
- You work closely with various specialist departments and actively contribute your ideas to the further development of our capacity management
Competences and potential
- You have a completed degree in business informatics, data science, medical informatics, computer science, or a comparable data-oriented field, or are about to graduate
- You enjoy working with data, recognising patterns, and deriving concrete insights from numbers
- You have very good Excel skills and experience with reporting or business intelligence tools. Knowledge of data modelling, forecasting methods, or simulations is an advantage
- You have an analytical, networked way of thinking and are interested in economic contexts
- You like to work independently, approach new questions with curiosity, and develop your own solutions
- You can explain complex matters simply and appreciate exchanging ideas with people from different specialist areas
- You are interested in healthcare. Initial knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system is an advantage but not a requirement
