Role:

As a Security Systems Engineer, you stand where attacks become visible before they cause damage. Within the framework of Managed Security Services, you protect the environments of various customers with modern technologies such as SIEM and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR). Every alert is a piece of the puzzle for you. From logs, events, and scans, you form a clear situational picture and derive targeted measures. Thus, you combine technical operation with real detective work.

Responsibilities:

• You monitor security events, analyse alerts technically, and classify them correctly.

• Additionally, you configure firewalls in the network and cloud, maintain security policies, and operate WAF, MFA, EDR, and XDR solutions.

• In the event of security incidents, you investigate the causes and initiate appropriate countermeasures.

• You optimise existing log management and SIEM platforms and continuously improve their detection quality.

• Furthermore, you plan vulnerability scans, evaluate the results, and accompany changes, rollouts, and projects at customers.

• You test new security technologies in proofs of concept and keep configurations, systems, and incidents well documented.

Qualifications:

• You have at least 3 years of experience in security operations or cyber security engineering.

• You are familiar with network, cloud, endpoint, and system security, as well as securing Linux and Windows systems.

• Practical experience with web application firewalls, cloud and enterprise firewalls, as well as with NDR, EDR, or XDR technologies distinguishes you.

• Additionally, you have a solid understanding of TLS, HTTP/S, DNS, and TCP/IP, as well as role-based access concepts and MFA.

• You correlate events across various systems, keep a cool head under pressure, and enjoy working hand in hand with your team.

• Moreover, you bring know-how in vulnerability management and automate security processes with Python or Bash.
