Role:
If a data packet misses its target, you want to know why. This curiosity makes you so valuable as a Network & Security Engineer. You are responsible for a demanding network infrastructure and bring routing, security, and availability into harmony. You connect new locations and services cleanly and actively shape the architecture. Personal responsibility and technical precision are central to this.
Responsibilities:
You analyse complex faults in 2nd and 3rd level support and get to the bottom of performance, latency, and connectivity issues.
You configure switches, routers, and VPN gateways and optimise dynamic routing with Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and BGP.
You design rule sets and security policies for firewalls and drive network segmentation forward.
Additionally, you operate site-to-site and remote-access VPN solutions including NAT, DNS, and certificates.
Furthermore, you plan migrations and lifecycle measures and integrate new locations into the architecture.
You also ensure redundancy and failover and specifically expand monitoring and documentation.
Qualifications:
You have several years of experience in network engineering, ideally at least three years.
Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, as well as IPv4 and IPv6 forms your basis.
You work confidently with VLANs, trunking, STP/RSTP, and link aggregation, and you have practical experience with BGP.
Concepts such as least privilege, network zones, and high availability are familiar to you, as are DHCP, ACLs, and certificate handling.
Furthermore, you systematically dissect error patterns down to the packet level, for example with Wireshark and packet captures.
You also communicate fluently in German and read English manufacturer documentation effortlessly.
