Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced individual as Construction Manager: Building Construction / Hospital Construction for the realisation of a complex large-scale project in healthcare. You will take on the operational site management and coordinate contractors, specialist planners, planning teams and the client during the demanding execution phase. The focus is on reliable management of deadlines, costs, quality and site processes as well as the coordination of numerous technical and construction interfaces. Special requirements arise from the sensitive project environment and ensuring as little disruption as possible to hospital operations during construction.
Responsibilities:
Operational site management of a complex hospital and building construction project during the realisation phase
Planning, leadership and coordination of work and construction processes on site
Management of contractors, specialist planners, specialists and other project participants
Coordination with client, overall planning and project management and ensuring clear decision-making and communication channels
Responsibility for compliance with deadlines, costs, execution quality and project specifications
Monitoring execution based on contracts, execution documents and SIA standards
Coordination of complex interfaces between building construction, building services, interior finishing and specialist trades
Organisation and leadership of construction, contractor and coordination meetings including action item management
Review of quantities, extra work, change orders and contractor invoices
Coordination of construction phases, logistics and safety requirements taking into account the ongoing hospital operations
Conducting and supporting quality controls, acceptance and defect rectifications
Support with commissioning, handovers and final documentation of the executed areas
Qualifications:
Training as a certified construction manager building construction, HF technician building construction, FH architect or comparable construction technical qualification
Several years of professional experience in site management of demanding building construction or large projects
Sound knowledge in building construction, construction scheduling and execution coordination
Experience in cost, schedule and quality management as well as with SIA standards and contracts
Knowledge of Messerli construction administration is an advantage as well as confident use of Microsoft 365
Experience with hospital, laboratory or technically complex building construction is an advantage
Good German and Italian language skills spoken and written
