To complete its teams, the Municipality of Plan-les-Ouates is looking for its future Head of the Communication and Events Department
Permanent position at 100% - Grade 18
Your mission:
- Participate in the establishment of the new communication and events department (operational processes, change management support, etc.);
- Organise, manage, and coordinate the activities of the department composed of two sectors: communication and events;
- Lead a multidisciplinary team;
- Ensure the development, implementation, and evolution of the municipality’s communication policy, both internally and externally, embodying its values and defending its orientations with various audiences and partners;
- Collaborate closely with the General Secretariat and the Administrative Council;
- Guarantee the planning of municipal events in close collaboration with all services;
- Manage major municipal events;
- Ensure sound financial and budgetary management of the department;
- Ensure the preparation and proper administrative management of files;
- Be proactive in proposing improvements to the hierarchy to evolve the department and services in line with municipal policies;
- Actively collaborate with internal and external partners;
- Represent the department, including working evening and weekend hours.
Your profile:
- You hold a university degree or higher education or equivalent qualification in communication and/or public relations and event management;
- You have completed certified training in management;
- You have experience and a strong interest in team management;
- You possess negotiation and communication skills, an innovative mindset, and demonstrate flexibility;
- You have worked for at least 5 years in similar responsible positions, ideally in the public sector or within a Swiss municipality;
- You have excellent knowledge and experience in event organisation as well as in communication;
- You are comfortable with and have good knowledge of media tools;
- You have administrative rigour and excellent mastery of office and accounting tools;
- You have a strong sense of public service and wish to oversee and contribute to strengthening the image of the Municipality.
