Construction Manager or Architect for Construction Management Tasks (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced construction manager for building construction to realise architecturally demanding new build and renovation projects in the Winterthur region. You will take on operational construction management, coordinate contractors and specialist planners, and ensure professional implementation of the planning on site. The focus is on execution, tendering, cost, schedule and quality control as well as close collaboration with the architecture and project management teams. The diverse project portfolio includes various contract sizes and also involves demanding construction tasks in the area of existing buildings and monument preservation.

Responsibilities:

• Independent construction management and realisation of demanding new build, renovation and refurbishment projects

• Responsibility for local construction management as well as coordination and supervision of the executing companies on site

• Preparation and processing of tenders, cost estimates and contractor awards according to Swiss standards

• Control and monitoring of deadlines, costs and execution quality during the realisation phase

• Conducting construction meetings as well as preparing and following up on minutes, pending issues and schedules

• Coordination of interfaces between architecture, specialist planning, contractors and clients

• Review of offers, contracts, change orders, measurements and contractor invoices

• Ensuring professional execution in accordance with execution planning, SIA standards and Swiss building regulations

• Support of demanding renovations, refurbishments and monument preservation construction projects taking into account existing building fabric

• Organisation and execution of acceptances, defect management and handovers up to project completion

• Close collaboration with project and architectural management to implement design and structurally demanding details

Qualifications:

• Training as a certified construction manager HF, technician HF construction planning, architect FH/ETH or comparable construction-technical qualification

• Several years of professional experience in construction management of building projects in Switzerland

• Sound knowledge in tendering, cost estimation, awarding and execution support

• Experience in cost, schedule and quality management during realisation

• Knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss construction processes

• Experience with renovation, refurbishment or listed buildings is an advantage

• Very good German language skills spoken and written
