Construction Project Manager (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced leader for the construction project management of demanding building projects from construction decision to handover. You will take overall responsibility for costs, deadlines, quality and on-site construction management and ensure a professional project organisation throughout the relevant SIA phases. You will coordinate planners and contractors, conduct contract and quality controls, and be responsible for measurement, billing, acceptance and plan checks. This managerial role combines operational construction management with high responsibility for the quality and timely realisation of complex construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Taking over construction project management from construction decision and steering further planning and realisation according to SIA phases

• Building and leading an appropriate project organisation as well as overall control of costs, deadlines and quality

• Leading planning, coordination and construction meetings including task management and minute taking

• Responsibility for on-site construction management and active coordination of contractors and specialist planners on site

• Monitoring contracts, contractual bases and agreed services and enforcing project-specific requirements

• Conducting plan checks and quality assurance considering project, contract and SIA requirements

• Managing construction process, scheduling and cost control as well as early handling of deviations and additional claims

• Preparing and reviewing measurements, time sheets, contractor invoices and final accounts

• Coordinating and conducting acceptances, defect recordings and handovers as well as monitoring defect rectification

• Ensuring professional execution in compliance with relevant SIA standards and Swiss construction regulations

• Ongoing project controlling and reporting on costs, deadlines, quality, risks and project progress to construction management

• Technical management of project participants and assuming the corresponding leadership responsibility within the managerial role

Qualifications:

• Basic construction training, preferably draftsman EFZ specialising in architecture, with advanced training in construction management

• Degree as certified construction manager HFP, technician HF construction planning or comparable qualification

• Several years of experience in construction and project management of demanding Swiss building projects, ideally in general contractor/subcontractor environments

• Sound knowledge of SIA standards, construction administration, contracts as well as cost and schedule control

• Practical experience in on-site construction management, measurement, contractor billing, acceptance and quality management

• Confident use of common construction administration, scheduling and MS Office applications

• Very good German skills spoken and written
