How can industrial plants be operated reliably and at the same time securely networked with modern IT systems? If this challenge excites you, you can apply your technical expertise here. You develop well-thought-out architectural concepts for networked production and infrastructure environments, assess risks, and implement suitable solutions together with interdisciplinary teams. In doing so, you combine strategic architectural thinking with a practical understanding of industrial operational processes.
Responsibilities:
Develop future-proof system landscapes: You design IT/OT reference architectures for industrial environments and define technical specifications for integration, scalability, availability, and maintainability.
Secure OT networks and platforms: You develop segmentation and security concepts for industrial networks, define communication zones, and support the implementation of appropriate protective measures.
Connect IT and industrial systems: You plan the secure integration of production systems, control systems, and controllers into overarching IT and data platforms, taking into account the special requirements of ongoing plants.
Identify risks and implement measures: You assess vulnerabilities, support security analyses and incident response, and develop measures to improve the cyber resilience of industrial systems.
Drive technical advancement: You evaluate new technologies and architectural approaches, accompany modernisations and migrations, and support internal teams with technical decisions, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
You bring several years of experience in the design and further development of IT/OT architectures, industrial networks, or complex infrastructure environments.
You know the requirements of industrial automation and control systems and understand the differences between classic IT environments and time-critical OT systems.
You have sound knowledge of network and security architectures, firewalls, segmentation, secure remote access, and the integration of different system landscapes.
Ideally, you have experience with SCADA, PLC, DCS, OPC UA, industrial communication protocols, as well as standards such as IEC 62443 or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
You think systemically, make well-founded technical decisions, and communicate confidently with different stakeholders. You work independently, act proactively, and value collaboration between IT, OT security, engineering, and operations.
Your perspective: You take on a central role in the secure digitalisation of industrial environments. You shape architectural decisions, further develop security standards, and ensure that innovative technologies remain compatible with the requirements of stable plant operations.
