Context and Role
6-month assignment potentially renewable.
In an environment focused on operations and maintaining operational conditions, the consultant works on critical Linux infrastructures. They contribute to the proper functioning of IT services, platform stability, and adherence to defined service commitments.
Main Responsibilities
Handle incidents, requests, and anomalies related to Linux environments, respecting contractual service levels.
Monitor the infrastructure using monitoring tools and manage associated system alerts and events.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance operations to ensure platform availability and reliability.
Implement approved changes within the ITIL processes (CAB).
Apply security patches and system updates using the existing patch management tools (Orcharhino).
Deploy and configure virtualised Linux servers on VMware infrastructures according to internal standards.
Carry out data restoration operations from existing backup solutions (Veeam).
Administer system access (accounts, groups, privilege elevations) in compliance with security policies.
Contribute to system security hardening, automation of recurring tasks, and technical watch.
Participate in site opening or extension projects, including updating documentation and producing follow-up deliverables.
Work as part of a planned on-call rota outside business hours.
Implement and operate containerised environments within On-Prem Openshift in collaboration with infrastructure teams.
Regular reporting is expected, including activity reports and performance indicators aligned with SLAs.
Desired Profile
Significant experience in Linux system administration in a production environment.
Expertise in the following environments and technologies:
Linux distributions: Red Hat, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux
Containerisation and orchestration: Openshift, Rancher
Patching and configuration: Orcharhino, Puppet
Backup and restoration: Veeam Backup
Virtualisation: VMware
Strong knowledge of system security and hardening practices.
Ability to design and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Python, etc.).
Experience in RUN contexts with strong requirements for availability and incident management.
Comfortable writing technical documentation and producing operational reports.
Availability to participate in an on-call service.
