Linux Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
You are looking for a new challenge as an IT Infrastructure System Engineer. In this role, you take responsibility for planning, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructures. You ensure the availability, scalability, and performance of the systems. With your professional-level experience, you are able to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions. You contribute your skills and knowledge to keep the IT infrastructure up to date.
Responsibilities:
You manage physical server landscapes at external data centre locations and coordinate hardware installations, expansions, and technical renewals.
You administer Linux systems, Proxmox clusters, and virtual machines, optimising their performance, availability, and security.
You manage Ceph and ZFS storage solutions, monitor infrastructure resources, and ensure reliable backup and recovery processes.
You automate recurring operational tasks, maintain central network services, and support fault analysis in Cisco, Palo Alto, and VPN environments.
You coordinate external service providers, support Microsoft 365 services and workplace systems as needed, and participate in compensated on-call duty.
Qualifications:
You have IT training at EFZ, HF, or university level or a comparable technical qualification.
You bring practical experience with Linux administration, server hardware, and virtualisation technologies such as Proxmox or VMware.
You are familiar with distributed storage systems, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and concepts for high availability and data backup.
Ideally, you have knowledge of Bash, Python, network security, as well as Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory.
You work independently, solution-oriented, and cross-team, communicate fluently in English, and reside in Switzerland; German skills are welcome.
