Role:
In this role, you develop and optimise sophisticated software solutions that efficiently implement complex planning and optimisation tasks. You take responsibility for the conception, implementation, testing, and further development of the applications and ensure high technical quality. You analyse requirements, translate them into robust architectures, and ensure reliable results with clean, high-performance algorithms. You work closely with relevant interfaces to provide planning results in a user-friendly manner and continuously improve existing processes. Through your expert knowledge, you actively drive the further development of the technologies and methods used for planning and optimisation.
Responsibilities:
- You design and develop state-of-the-art planning, scheduling, and optimisation algorithms for our laboratory robotics platform using .NET/C# and Python.
- In this role, you evaluate and implement optimisation and heuristic methods and validate them on the robot under real-time and reliability requirements, including prototyping, profiling, and performance tuning.
- You extend and maintain our scheduling components, the underlying architecture, and the associated scripting language.
- As a software developer for planning and optimisation, you contribute to the seamless integration of our robots into customer and partner systems worldwide.
- You ensure the highest quality and safety standards by complying with ISO 13485 and relevant medical device standards.
Qualifications:
- You hold a Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Engineering, Technical Mathematics, or a comparable field.
- You have solid experience with optimisation methods and algorithms in operations research, especially in constraint programming and mixed integer programming.
- You demonstrate a deep understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, and clean code, placing great value on high software quality.
- You are proficient in Python and scientific libraries such as NumPy and Pandas and ideally also familiar with .NET and C#.
- You have experience working with CP-SAT solvers like Google OR-Tools or similar technologies.
- You communicate confidently in English, both spoken and written; knowledge of German is an advantage.
