About the job
With more than 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the Geneva University Hospitals are a reference institution at both national and international levels. To learn more about our institution, take a few minutes to discover the highlights of the year 2025 by clicking here .
The Human Resources Department has the primary mission of ensuring the development of the institution's human capital in view of organisational evolution. It constantly seeks to innovate, challenge, and improve its practices while basing its strategy on the positive experience of employees. The HR policy of the HUG is based on the development of skills and career paths in line with institutional needs and focuses on consideration of the individual, work-life balance, and health and safety at work.
Internal medicine is a specialty focused – as its name indicates – on the inside of the body and organs. Over the past three decades, the parent discipline has given rise to multiple disciplines, which have become full specialties for several years and have obtained the same status as internal medicine itself. The specialist brings the latest knowledge of their specialty to the patient and, in university centres, is capable of developing sophisticated research programmes, either clinical or laboratory-based, which will integrate this knowledge through translational medicine into practice.
Within the HR team of the Department of Internal Medicine, your activities notably include the administrative management of the department's employees, including the production of various administrative acts.
In this role, you provide information and advice to employees and managers on HR procedure-related questions and assume administrative management for the target group for which you are responsible, in synergy with two deputy HR managers and two HR managers. Thus, you intervene administratively throughout the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment to departure, in connection with numerous partners within the HR Department and the institution (salary manager, recruitment service, managers, etc.).
By delegation from the head of human resources, you ensure the organisation and management of activities related to case processing while ensuring a fair distribution of priorities. You coordinate HR services according to the rules and directives of the HR Department, representing the institutional human resources policy.
You support your manager in developing a harmonious and respectful working environment.
Service- and solution-oriented, you also identify with the values of the HUG, which you embody in the exercise of your duties.
Qualifications
You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification in the field of human sciences, hotel business management, or economics, and you have necessarily completed your initial training with the HR manager certificate.
You have at least three to five years of professional experience in a similar role. Knowledge of the medical field and/or the Geneva public sector is an asset. Your experience has led you to develop a sense of discretion and confidentiality as well as strong organisational skills.
You have very good command of common IT tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as collaborative tools (SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
You have perfect command of the French language, both spoken and written.
Flexible, rigorous, organised, and with good interpersonal skills, you know how to work in a team and develop harmonious relationships with your interlocutors, demonstrating diplomacy and tact.
Finally, you are capable of managing a significant workload and setting priorities.
