The Department of Medicine (DMED) provides comprehensive and specialised care for patients, both in hospital and outpatient settings. Driven by a human, holistic approach based on best medical practices, it offers reference care in numerous specialties (cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, angiology and nephrology), with availability 24/7. Within this department, the Infectious Diseases Service aims to combine clinical activity meeting the needs of a university hospital with academic research and teaching activities in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine. It provides diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS. It relies on a medical team specialised in infectiology and microbiology and develops its activities in close cooperation with numerous hospital partners to guarantee multidisciplinary and high-quality care.

This position is newly created and is part of the ALTER deployment, which aims to ensure compliance of work organisation with the Labour Law (LTr).

As an internal medicine physician, you have begun your training path in internal medicine and now wish to specialise in infectiology.

In this context, you will join the Infectious Diseases Service and participate in the activities of various specialised consultations, notably in general infectious diseases, immunocompromised patients, elderly patients, septic orthopaedics and HIV/AIDS, through rotations.

Under the supervision of senior physicians, you will manage the care of patients entrusted to you, both outpatient and inpatient, throughout the institution. You will progressively develop your clinical expertise by facing varied and sometimes complex situations, which will strengthen your analytical skills, clinical judgement and ability to adapt quickly to new medical contexts.

Thanks to your organisational skills and rigour, you will ensure the clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic activities necessary for patient care. You will ensure compliance with internal rules and procedures, with a constant focus on the quality of medical services provided.

Faced with the diversity of consultation requests and the complexity of some clinical situations, you will demonstrate composure, discernment and good stress management. Your intellectual curiosity will encourage you to deepen your knowledge and understand the challenges of the situations you encounter. You will also welcome constructive feedback openly and use it as a lever for progress in achieving your training objectives.

Working in a stimulating and demanding university environment within a multidisciplinary team, you will also participate in the training of junior doctors. You will collaborate closely with all the institution’s medical and nursing teams, adopting a proactive and patient-centred approach. You will ensure clear, respectful and appropriate communication with both colleagues and patients and their relatives.

Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing research projects within the service.

As part of your training path, you will develop your skills in accordance with the training plan and FMH requirements over three years within the service. The service offers a recognised environment for quality teaching, a wide range of infectiology activities and development opportunities supporting the attainment of the FMH title. You will also benefit from personalised support through coaching sessions, targeted training and regular supervision provided by senior physicians and clinic heads.

You hold a federal medical diploma or an equivalent diploma recognised by the Medical Professions Commission (MEBEKO). You have at least three years of experience in general internal medicine or already hold an FMH in general internal medicine. Initial experience in clinical infectiology is an asset. You aim to obtain the FMH specialist title in infectiology and wish to complete all or part of your training within the service.

You have a perfect command of the French language (level C1 required) and very good written and oral communication skills.

Possessing excellent skills in communicating within a multidisciplinary team and with patients, you are a dynamic, flexible and committed person. Moreover, you have demonstrated strong adaptability.

You can work day shifts as well as night and weekend shifts.
