Geomatics Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for a qualified specialist as a Geomatics Engineer FH / ETH for an established engineering and planning company with a focus on civil engineering, municipal engineering, and geomatics. You will take on the technical management of construction and engineering surveying and be responsible for the support and further development of digital surveying and geographic information systems. The focus is on official surveying, GIS and CAD applications, WebGIS solutions, as well as modern surveying technologies. The position combines technical project responsibility, digital geodata processing, and IT-related system development with diverse tasks in the municipal and infrastructural environment.

Responsibilities:

• Technical management and project coordination of construction and engineering surveying for building, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects

• Planning and execution of demanding surveying tasks including terrain surveys, construction staking, control measurements, and deformation monitoring

• Support and further development of official surveying applications considering Swiss data models and quality requirements

• Administration and optimisation of CAD and GIS systems for digital surveying planning, geodata processing, and plan creation

• Collaboration in the development and further development of WebGIS applications for municipalities, authorities, and private clients

• Processing and quality assurance of geodata including data modelling, coordinate transformations, and maintenance of geographic databases

• Use of modern surveying technologies such as GNSS, tachymetry, 3D laser scanning, and digital terrain and building modelling

• Coordination of surveying projects including scheduling, resource management, project controlling, and technical quality assurance

• Technical advice to municipalities, authorities, and engineering partners on surveying issues and GIS applications

• Support in IT and digitalisation projects, especially regarding interfaces, data migrations, system integrations, and automation of geodata processes

• Ensuring compliance with Swiss surveying standards, especially the requirements of official surveying, the Geoinformation Act, and relevant data models

Qualifications:

• Completed studies in Geomatics FH or ETH or equivalent higher education in geoinformatics or surveying

• Several years of professional experience in construction and engineering surveying as well as sound knowledge of Swiss official surveying

• Very good knowledge of GIS and CAD applications, ideally with experience in QGIS, ArcGIS, or comparable specialised applications

• Experience with modern surveying systems such as GNSS, tachymetry, 3D laser scanning, and digital geodata processing

• Knowledge of WebGIS, geodatabases, and interface technologies, for example SQL, PostGIS, WMS, and WFS, is an advantage

• Sound knowledge of Swiss surveying standards, geodata models, and legal foundations of official surveying

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form
