Role:

Do you want to not only fend off attacks but also understand them? As a Security Operations Engineer, you work in the midst of a managed security services environment and manage the protection mechanisms of very different customer environments. Logs, alerts, and vulnerabilities provide you with new puzzles every day, which you solve with an analytical eye. Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) is as much a part of your daily routine as firewalls and log analyses. Here you bring in your experience and continuously develop technically.

Responsibilities:

• You analyse security events and alerts, classify them technically, and initiate appropriate countermeasures in case of incidents.

• You evaluate log data from endpoints, servers, networks, and security systems and refine the existing SIEM solutions.

• You configure security components such as firewalls, web application firewalls (WAF), EDR/XDR, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) and keep them stable in operation.

• Furthermore, you conduct vulnerability scans and assess the identified weaknesses.

• During rollouts, changes, and security projects in customer environments, you actively contribute and test new technologies in proof of concepts.

• In addition, you document configurations, systems, and incidents clearly in technical documentation.

Qualifications:

• You bring several years of experience in security operations or cyber security engineering, at least three years.

• You have solid knowledge in cloud, system, endpoint, and network security and are confident working in both Linux and Windows environments.

• Additionally, you have practical experience with WAF, cloud and enterprise firewalls, as well as with NDR, EDR, or XDR solutions.

• Log management, log correlation, and security event analysis are familiar territory for you, as is handling incidents across multiple systems.

• You possess solid knowledge in vulnerability management, understand network protocols such as HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, and DNS, and are familiar with concepts like role-based access and MFA.
