Head of Software Quality and Testing (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF120,000 - 145,000The expertise of our ROCKEN partner lies in the evaluation, planning and implementation of sophisticated methods. The partner's service includes test management, test automation and project management of heterogeneous IT solutions.
Role:
In this role as Head of Software Quality and Testing, you actively shape the further development of a professional testing department and sustainably influence structures, processes and standards. You take responsibility for test management in demanding software projects and ensure that quality is systematically planned, controlled and made transparent from the outset. You coordinate test strategies, test plans and test resources, work closely with project stakeholders and make well-founded decisions based on risks and results. You are responsible for organising test activities efficiently and continuously optimising them to ensure high stability and reliability of the software. As a senior professional, you bring your experience to establish best practices and consistently advance the development of the testing culture.
Responsibilities:
- You take end-to-end responsibility for planning, controlling and executing tests.
- In this role, you develop and implement manual and automated test strategies.
- You coordinate stakeholders, interfaces and suppliers and ensure smooth collaboration.
- As Head of Software Quality and Testing, you ensure complete test documentation, transparent reporting and high visibility of quality.
- You manage defect management, monitor quality metrics and derive appropriate improvement measures.
- In this role, you lead and coach the test teams professionally and provide suitable test data and test environments.
Qualifications:
- You have a degree in business informatics, business administration, software development or a comparable qualification.
- You have several years of experience in test management or test consulting, ideally in agile and scaled environments (Scrum, SAFe, DevOps).
- You are proficient with test and project management tools such as JIRA, Xray, Zephyr, Azure DevOps or ALM and are well versed in test automation (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- You communicate appropriately for the audience at all levels – from the team to C-level – and act independently, in a structured and entrepreneurial manner.
- You hold a certification at ISTQB Advanced Level or an equivalent qualification.
- You speak German and English fluently; knowledge of French and experience in Swiss projects (ideally in the federal environment) are advantageous.
