Role:
As a Windows Server & Virtualisation Engineer, you are the technical contact person for SME customers with very different infrastructures. From the initial requirements analysis to stable operation, you accompany each project yourself. Technically, your days revolve around Hyper-V, Microsoft 365 (M365) and modern network segmentation. It becomes exciting where you shape robust architectures from customer wishes and document them clearly.
Responsibilities:
You technically capture customer requirements and derive scalable concepts for compute, storage and network.
This also includes the rollout of server landscapes including clustering, backup strategies and disaster recovery scenarios.
You implement firewall rules, site-to-site tunnels and segmented networks based on Fortinet and Cisco.
You proactively monitor system states, apply updates in a controlled manner and reduce attack surfaces through consistent hardening.
Furthermore, you independently support your customers remotely as well as directly on site.
You also impart knowledge to users in training sessions on security, collaboration and system operation.
Qualifications:
Your foundation is a vocational training qualification in computer science or a Microsoft certificate related to Windows Server.
You have practical knowledge of server infrastructure, virtualisation and network protocols such as TCP/IP, VLAN and NAT.
You confidently administer Entra ID and Microsoft 365 and write scripts for automated processes.
You methodically analyse error patterns and link logs, metrics and configurations to clear diagnoses.
Furthermore, you organise your deployment plan independently, act reliably and pull together as a team.
You are also mobile for customer appointments with a category B driving licence.
