VoIP Platform Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
Do you want to not only operate Linux systems but actively shape them at the network and telecommunications level? Do you enjoy automation, dynamic routing, and analysing complex data streams? In this position, you will work on robust, highly available platforms, optimise the processing of voice and mobile data, and develop technical solutions for demanding production environments.
Responsibilities:
You design and develop automation solutions for recurring operational tasks, network processes, and the scalable provisioning of participants.
You maintain automation and configuration logic for redundant Linux clusters and ensure that systems are reproducibly deployed and operated uniformly.
You carry out lifecycle measures, kernel updates, and major system migrations, planning changes so that critical network services remain available with minimal interruption.
You configure and optimise Linux network functions such as routing, firewall rules, VLANs, high availability mechanisms, as well as BGP and OSPF connections.
You monitor the performance of telecommunications services, evaluate metrics and packet captures, and resolve complex faults in the SIP and GTP environment. Additionally, you participate in on-call duty and support compliance with agreed service levels.
Qualifications:
You bring several years or correspondingly deep practical experience with Linux servers and their administration in productive environments.
You have solid scripting skills and can make operational processes and system integrations more efficient through automation.
You understand IP networks in detail and are familiar with routing, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, as well as the native Linux network and firewall tools.
You have experience with demanding updates and migrations of productive systems and can plan, test, and roll out changes in a structured and controlled manner.
You work analytically, independently, and solution-oriented. Additional knowledge in Kamailio, Asterisk, RTPEngine, OpenSIPS, VoLTE, IMS, GTPv2, Proxmox, Docker, Kubernetes, or databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and Redis is a plus.
