What we will achieve together
Within the DEC Directorate, you will contribute to connecting customers and developing the electrical network by conducting engineering studies and forward-looking analyses. The Infrastructure unit, which ensures reliable and sustainable supply, carries out renewal and development projects for the network to meet current and future needs. You will also participate in improving decision-support methods and tools to support the energy transition and ensure the quality of electricity distribution in the canton.
Your energy in the service of a sustainable Geneva
As part of your role, you will be specifically responsible for:
- Conducting studies for connecting customers to the network and defining technical solutions adapted to their needs.
- Contributing to the design, development and sizing of medium and low voltage networks;
- Participating in the development of forward-looking scenarios to anticipate the evolution and future needs of the electrical network;
- Carrying out studies on the integration of new uses and large energy consumers, such as data centres or electromobility;
- Participating in the improvement of digital tools, methods and reference frameworks used by network engineering;
- Contributing to cross-cutting projects related to the evolution of the electrical system and the continuous improvement of practices.
Your personality and skills
Your curiosity, rigour and initiative will enable you to contribute effectively to the unit’s projects. Furthermore, you possess:
- Mastery of the basics in electrical engineering and distribution networks;
- Ease with IT and office tools and an interest in data processing;
- Ability to use or learn electrical simulation tools (Powerfactory or equivalent);
- Analytical mind, curiosity and openness to change to support the evolution of practices;
- Good writing skills for producing technical documents and reference materials;
- Programming knowledge or willingness to develop skills in automation (Python or equivalent).
Your academic background:
- You hold a Master’s degree from EPF/EPFL or an engineering diploma from a University of Applied Sciences in electrical engineering, energy or an equivalent qualification. You have solid technical knowledge and show an interest in digital tools and engineering studies.
The salary will be calculated based on an annual reference salary spread over thirteen payments, depending on your diploma:
- Bachelor: CHF 75,000 gross (100% basis) spread over thirteen payments.
- Master: CHF 78,000 gross (100% basis) spread over thirteen payments.
