Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced architect for the client-side overall project management of public building construction projects. You represent the interests of the client throughout all project phases and are responsible for costs, deadlines, quality, and services vis-à-vis internal and external project participants. In addition to realising demanding construction projects, you take on tasks in portfolio management, condition analysis, and strategic maintenance planning. The environment combines high architectural and urban planning requirements with sustainability as well as the special decision-making and approval processes of public construction projects.
Responsibilities:
Assuming client-side overall project management of demanding public building construction projects
Responsibility for project-related cost, schedule, quality, and performance management
Leading and managing architecture, specialist planning, and expert teams through the relevant SIA phases
Coordinating the requirements of users, operations, authorities, politics, and other stakeholders
Developing project definitions, project mandates, and decision-making bases
Preparing credit applications, project reports, and templates for responsible decision-making and political bodies
Conducting project controlling, cost forecasts, and risk assessments
Accompanying planner selection procedures, competitions, tenders, and awards
Reviewing and strategically further developing the assigned building portfolio
Planning and prioritising maintenance, repair, and renovation measures
Preparing and assessing condition analyses, renovation strategies, and rough cost estimates
Integrating sustainability, energy, and lifecycle requirements into project development and investment planning
Qualifications:
Completed studies as Architect ETH/FH or equivalent recognised qualification
Several years of experience in client-side project management or overall project management of complex building construction projects
Sound knowledge of Swiss planning and construction processes as well as relevant SIA standards
Experience in cost planning, project controlling, condition assessment, and renovation planning
Confident architectural and construction-technical judgement, ideally in the context of public buildings
Understanding of political decision-making, credit, and approval processes is an advantage
Very good German skills as well as strong written expression
