Chair of the SSR Board of Directors (50%)

In this demanding role, you lead the Board of Directors and represent SSR to political and economic circles, civil society and the public. In collaboration with the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, you define SSR's strategic development and support its transformation in a rapidly evolving media environment.

• Leading the SSR Board of Directors and ensuring effective and forward-looking corporate governance
• Steering SSR's strategic development and ensuring the sustainable fulfilment of its public service mandate in the digital age
• Supporting the successful transformation of the company as well as the culture and development of "ONE SSR" while taking into account the country’s cultural and linguistic diversity
• Close exchanges with the CEO; role as sparring partner
• Representing SSR to authorities, political decision-makers and other stakeholders; promoting dialogue between the company, the institution, the political world and the public
• Strengthening the anchoring of public service in all linguistic regions; representing SSR in political, societal and media circles

Your profile

• Several years of experience in management and governance at the highest level, combined with proven experience in strategically supporting complex transformation and change processes
• Excellent knowledge of Swiss political functioning and decision-making processes, along with an extensive network at the intersection of Swiss society, economy and media
• Strong affinity for technologies; clear vision of how public media service should position itself in the democratic and societal context in the face of the growing dominance of artificial intelligence
• In-depth knowledge of modern corporate governance principles; experience managing a complex set of stakeholders
• Strong commitment to the public service mandate and its importance for Switzerland
• Communicative talent, persuasive power and confidence in dealing with the political world, media and public
• Very good active knowledge of German and French; willingness to acquire knowledge of Italian and to fully embrace Switzerland’s multilingualism
